Trump and Putin Agree to Start Peace Talks to End War in Ukraine In a major diplomatic move. The Presidents of the United States Donald Trump and Russia Vladimir Putin agreed to hold immediate talks to end war in Ukraine. After long discussions between the leaders, they will talk peace to end the war in Ukraine.
President Trump stated that both countries will send top leaders for formal discussions on peace. In a recent communication, Trump highlighted the shared intention of the two leaders – to end the destruction, and added, “Millions have suffered. It is time to stop the war.” Following his talks with Putin, Trump also spoke to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who said Ukraine is ready to work on peace. Zelensky stressed on “lasting and reliable peace” while maintaining Ukraine’s integrity and security.

The U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that it may be unrealistic to expect a return to 2014 borders for Ukraine. “We need negotiations that can be practical,” Zelensky said for peace negotiations. He warned that the longer the war continues, it will just bring in more devastation.
The talks, set to unfold in the coming weeks, may just be the effort that staunches the bloodshed and enables the world to focus on an exit strategy.
